GENERAL RENTAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

VEHICLE ASSIGNMENT

The driving of the rented vehicle and/or motorcycle is permitted only to persons holding a valid driver's license of type "A1", "A2", "A3", and "B". The following minimum age requirements apply:

  • "A1" - 16 years for motorcycles up to 11 kW.

  • "A2" - 18 years for motorcycles up to 35 kW.

  • "A3" - 24 years for motorcycles over 35 kW.

  • "B" - 18 years for all types of motor vehicles up to 9 seats (for newly licensed drivers, only vehicles up to 55 kW for the first year).

  • "B" - 18 years for all types of trucks up to 35q.

The vehicle and/or motorcycle is entrusted to the Customer under the assumption that they will personally operate it. The Customer assumes all risks and liabilities in the event of entrusting the vehicle to third parties, including those under Article 116, paragraph 12 of the Road Code (D.L. 285/92), regarding the assignment of a vehicle to a person without a valid driver's license or unauthorized by the rental company.

The Customer may communicate to the rental company the names of additional authorized drivers, who must present valid driving licenses for approval. A daily surcharge of 50% of the base rental rate will apply for each additional driver. For specific vehicle groups and locations, the rental company may require two credit cards at its discretion.

RENTAL PAYMENT

Payment can be made by credit/debit card, subject to authorization by the issuing institution, or in cash. Cash payments require a security deposit via a cashier’s check made out to $company_name. The deposit amount varies depending on the type of rented vehicle/motorcycle. Credit card holders authorize the rental company to charge their accounts for any costs related to the rental, including outstanding balances and recovery of debts owed to the rental company.

INSURANCE COVERAGE: LIABILITY, COLLISION, THEFT, AND FIRE

The rented vehicle/motorcycle is covered by liability (RCA) and collision (KASKO) insurance in accordance with current laws.
In the event of an incident, the deductible is specified in the rental agreement. For theft and/or fire, the deductible amount is stated in the rental agreement and varies by vehicle type.

  • (A) In cases where the rented vehicle/motorcycle is totaled beyond repair due to a severe accident, driving under the influence, or drug use, the deductible payable by the Customer is 100% of the vehicle's current value.

  • If the rented vehicle/motorcycle is stolen and the Customer fails to return both the original ignition key and any security device keys (Diablock or Blockshaft), the Customer must pay a deductible equal to 100% of the vehicle's current value.

In all cases of accidents, theft, or fire (partial or total), the Customer must file a formal report with the authorities and submit it to the rental company within 12 hours of the event.
The Customer is not liable for damages if they provide a C.I.D. form (amicable accident report) with clear, signed liability from the other party involved.

REFUELING SERVICE

The rented vehicle/motorcycle must be returned with the same fuel level as at the time of pickup. If the vehicle is returned with less fuel, the following charges will apply, covering both fuel and service fees:

  • Scooter: €20

  • Small cars: €12 per 1/8 tank or fraction thereof

  • Medium cars: €15 per 1/8 tank or fraction thereof

  • Large cars, vans, minibuses: €20 per 1/8 tank or fraction thereof

MILEAGE LIMITS

Mileage limits and additional charges for excess kilometers are specified in the rental agreement.

VEHICLE USE AND TERRITORIAL RESTRICTIONS

The rented vehicle/motorcycle is only authorized for use within Italy, unless specific written authorization is obtained from MyRentals. Unauthorized or illegal use results in the Customer being held responsible for damages and legal consequences. The rental company reserves the right to reclaim the vehicle at any time and place in case of violation of these terms.

The Customer is responsible for normal operation and routine maintenance of the vehicle/motorcycle. In the event of a breakdown or accident requiring roadside assistance, the Customer must contact the rental company for instructions using the numbers provided in the rental agreement.
The rental company is not liable for losses, damages due to vehicle breakdowns, delays, deterioration of transported goods, or damages of any other kind, except in cases of willful misconduct or gross negligence by the rental company.
The rental company is also not responsible for items left inside the vehicle/motorcycle after return.

The Customer is responsible for traffic violations, tolls, parking fees, and all other charges incurred during the rental period, including legal, postal, and administrative fees related to recovery. Each administrative fine processing incurs a €30 + VAT charge, which the Customer authorizes to be charged to their account.
Drop-off service outside Italy is not allowed unless specifically authorized by the rental company.

VEHICLE RETURN

At the start of the rental, the Customer agrees on the return date for the vehicle/motorcycle. Any changes must be communicated in advance to the rental company.

  • A rental day is counted as 24 hours plus a 30-minute grace period. Beyond this period, an additional full rental day is charged.

  • For special rate plans (weekend, weekly, etc.), exceeding the allowed period results in a full daily rate charge.

  • The vehicle/motorcycle must be returned within the rental office’s operating hours unless prior authorization is obtained. In case of after-hours returns, the rental period is considered ended at the next opening hour.

  • Failure to return the vehicle keys results in continued rental charges until keys are returned or a police report for loss/theft is provided.

  • Loss or theft of keys, remote controls, anti-theft chains, manuals, helmets, or insurance documents incurs a penalty of up to €600 + VAT.

  • The Customer must return the vehicle/motorcycle in the same condition as at the start of the rental, with all accessories intact, excluding normal wear and tear.

ODOMETER MALFUNCTION

If the vehicle's odometer malfunctions or its mileage cannot be determined, a standard charge of 300 kilometers per day will be applied.
